Harrogate Flower Fund Homes Limited is an exempt charity registered with the Regulator of Social Housing under the Co-operative and Community Benefit Societies Act 2014. Its aim is to provide affordable rental accommodation for people with limited means in the Harrogate area.
The Association takes its name originally from a scheme that encouraged loved ones to make financial donations instead of funeral flowers after bereavement. The money so raised kick-started the provision in Harrogate.
We now have some 33 flats in three locations in Harrogate. The flats have adaptations in place to help people with limited mobility and the Association aims to allocate vacancies to those who need or will need the adaptation in the near future. They are better suited for older people although anyone may apply. It must be recognised that vacancies are relatively rare and demand is high.
The Fund is organised so that the Board meets regularly to manage its affairs. It does not employ any paid staff but does use agents for the collection of rents. Any surpluses are used to improve existing flats or purchase new properties.
To find out more, and particularly if you wish to enquire about renting one of our properties, please get in touch using the form on the Contact Us page.
Please note that we do not provide sheltered housing and have no warden or other care services. Our tenants must, therefore, be self-reliant.
